Community Programs
At Dad's Garage, it's important to us to be stewards of our community. We've felt the benefits of anchoring a neighborhood, both in good times (supporting local restaurants! Benefiting local businesses as an anchor!) and in bad times (whoops, people like our neighborhood too much -- we're being bulldozed). The connections and community we created at our first location in Inman Park played a major role in our ability to find a permanent home.
Now in the historic Old Fourth Ward, we're working hard to use our facilities, artists, and connections to benefit our community once again. We've used our theatre as a polling place for local (and national) elections, hosted Red Cross blood drives multiple times, held community Town Halls and other local events, and do our best to offer other nonprofits space to show movies, hold meetings, and generally show our appreciation.
As often as our budget allows, we hold free children's events (subscribe to our newsletter to keep up with the latest!) and partner with fellow nonprofits. We're eager to work with other arts organizations (did you see our longtime collaboration with the Atlanta Opera?) big or small. It's been a challenging couple of years to form connections, but we're back in our building and doing our best. Join us, won't you?
